ENJOY!

Short Trek is Live!

If you are a fan of the Star Trek: Discovery world, there will be a series of short story format videos released every couple of weeks.  Last night’s short “Runaway” was all about Ensign Tilly, and her interactions with an unknown (for a bit) entity.  All I can say is that they didn’t hold back on production value for these shorts.  It was great, and Ensign Tilly is going to continue to be a valuable asset for the Discovery crew.  But how she gets access to so many systems without getting approval is beyond me…

Away Mission Log

Salt Lake City hosted another edition of FanX last week, one of my personal favorite events during the year.  Gratefully this year, there was some excellent representation from some of my favorite fandoms.  Even better, some of those guests were from our favorite universe.

Rainn Wilson spoke during the event, while mostly about The Office, he mentioned that he will be returning shortly to the studio to film additional scenes as Harry Mudd.  Karl Urban was the real McCoy during his panel, sharing that now was the right time to start a letter writing campaign if we want to see any more ST movies.  However, he was quick to say that the studio  wants to work with the cast, and the entire cast wants to work on this movie, it is just a lot of negotiation.

There were a lot of smartly dressed Starfleet officers in attendance from all eras, and I had a chance to chat with some of our friends from the Seventh Fleet.  I had no problems hopping on the command chair replica they had brought with them, even though us Science Division folk prefer our stations over the big chair.  All in all, an amazingly successful event and to be returning April 19-20th!

Prelude to Axanar

I met a bunch of the people involved in this project a while back, and it is stellar! The interview style really carries the story.  What do you think?

Away Teams to the Transporter…

For those of us in the Salt Lake City area, FanX is coming up on September 6-8th at the Salt Palace Convention Center.  With guests like Karl Urban and others, the Star Trek world will be well represented.  Personally, this will be my sixth year going and it never disappoints! Check out the schedule at https://www.fanxsaltlake.com/schedule/ .

Are you going? Leave us a note here or on the USS Aarushi Facebook page and let us know what you are looking forward to seeing!

Hailing Frequencies Open…

If you have been looking for an online home for the USS Aarushi, this is it!  We are back in communication range, and all sub space frequencies are open.  While there are still a few GNDN (goes nowhere, does nothing) sections, we’ll have engineers scrambling through all the Jeffries tubes to get things shipshape.  If you have questions, comments, ideas, dumb jokes, or just want to say hello, drop us a note on the “Contact Us” section.  Engage!
